Day to Day Management of a Law Firm

3 Hours SRA CPD

Speaker:  Linda Scott

The Seminar will give Managing Partners, Practice Managers and those involved in the day to day running of a Law Firm the opportunity to discuss issues that are currently threatening the very existence of Legal Practices in the UK today.

We will be revisiting proven and established management practices and providing useful and helpful hints in respect of areas that are often neglected and not reviewed regularly.

The day to day management of a Law Firm is in itself a mammoth task and requires an enormous amount of time, energy and devotion.

If you throw in the ever increasing regulation, risk management and compliance requirements, this makes the job even more enormous.

In the present economic environment, some very difficult and challenging decisions will have to be made and ideally your business should be in a position to react quickly and effectively.  To achieve this, there are a number of fundamentals that have to be in place before you can even consider setting your business objectives.

We will discuss and review a number of areas including:

  1. Your People

Do you have the right people in the right place?  Are you clear, concise and thorough about the Firm's expectations of them and do you review the people and policies regularly?

      2.   Financial Controls

Do you manage your finances daily - the current economic climate will expose any "chinks in your armour".

      3.   Compliance and Risk Management

Do you have realistic and manageable policies in place?  Individually an oversight may result in a slap on the wrist but a systematic failure of 2 or 3 basic principles could bring your business to its knees!
